BENEFIT FROM LOWEST POSTAGE RATES POST OFFICE PREFERRED (P.O.P)
To benefit from the lowest rate of postage for mail posted within Ireland and to any EU member country your mail should conform to Post Office Preferred (P.O.P) weight and size standards.
  • Weight:
Not more than 20 grammes or approximately the weight of an envelope containing up to 3 regular (A4) size sheets of paper.
  • Size:
    Minimum 90mm by 140mm, Maximum 120mm by 235mm.
If your envelope is bigger or smaller than the P.O.P. size, or weighs more than 20 grammes you must pay a higher than P.O.P rate.

PRINTED PAPERS - WHAT ARE THEY?
Printed papers include greeting cards, newspapers, books, invoices and pamphlets etc. posted in unsealed envelopes. Other correspondence in unsealed and sealed envelopes are classed as letters.

UNPAID OR UNDERPAID POSTAGE -
Don't guess it - Check it! Items unpaid or underpaid are surcharged 50p plus the deficiency in postage. This surcharge is collected from the addressee but in the case of refusal the sender will be obliged to pay the amount in full.
